This troubleshooting guide covers the most common issues you may encounter while using the MCHOSE Ace 68 magnetic keyboard.
1. Some Keys Are Not Responding or Do Not Register Correctly
If one or more keys do not respond, respond intermittently, or fail to register correctly, try the following solutions.
Possible Causes
- Incorrect trigger calibration
- Outdated firmware
- Improper switch installation
- USB connection problem
- Incorrect trigger settings
Solutions
- Press Fn + Esc for 5 seconds to restore factory settings and test again.
- Open M HUB → Other Settings, check for firmware updates, and install the latest firmware.
- Remove the affected switch using the included switch puller and inspect it for damage or debris. Check whether the switch moves normally. Replace it with one of the spare switches if necessary.
- Open M HUB → Trigger Settings and perform manual key calibration.
- Connect the keyboard directly to your computer. Avoid USB hubs or docking stations.
- Try another USB cable or another USB port.
2. Double Typing, Repeated Keystrokes, or Unexpected Key Activation
If a key triggers twice, repeats continuously, or activates without being intentionally pressed, it is usually caused by extremely sensitive trigger settings or environmental interference.
Possible Causes
- Rapid Trigger settings are too sensitive
- Firmware is outdated
- Nearby magnetic interference
- Switch issue
- Keyboard placed on top of another keyboard or laptop keyboard
Solutions
- Update the keyboard firmware to the latest version.
- Open M HUB → Trigger Settings and perform key calibration.
- Go to M HUB → Performance Settings and enable Keystroke Optimization.
- Remove nearby magnetic or metal objects that may interfere with the Hall Effect sensors.
- Do not place the keyboard directly on top of a laptop keyboard during use.
- Replace the affected switch with one of the included spare switches and recalibrate it.
3. A Key Does Not Return Properly After Being Pressed
If a key remains pressed or does not spring back normally, inspect both the switch and stabilizer.
Solutions
- Remove the keycap.
- Remove the switch.
- Check for dust, debris, or any obstruction inside the switch socket.
- Install one of the included spare switches for testing.
- If the affected key is a larger key (such as Space, Enter, Shift, or Backspace), inspect the stabilizer.
- If the stabilizer feels dry, apply a small amount of keyboard stabilizer lubricant.
- If the issue remains, contact MCHOSE Support.
4. How to Calibrate Keys
The Ace 68 supports Adaptive Dynamic Calibration, which is enabled by default. During normal use, the keyboard continuously optimizes calibration automatically.
Manual Calibration
- Open M HUB.
- Go to Trigger Settings.
- Select the key you want to calibrate.
- Begin calibration.
- Press the key vertically until it bottoms out.
- Repeat until calibration completes successfully.
Calibration Status Colors
| Color | Status |
|---|---|
| Blue | Calibration completed successfully. |
| Yellow | The key was detected, but calibration is incomplete. Continue pressing the key. |
| Gray | The key has not been detected yet. |
5. Win and Alt Keys Are Swapped
If the Win and Alt keys appear to be reversed, the keyboard is likely in the wrong operating system mode.
Solutions
| Shortcut | Function |
|---|---|
| Fn + O | Switch to Windows Mode |
| Fn + P | Switch to macOS Mode |
6. Some RGB LEDs Are Not Working
If one or more keys do not illuminate correctly, follow the steps below.
Solutions
- Press Fn + D to switch between lighting effects.
- Increase brightness by pressing Fn + A.
- Hold Fn + Esc for 5 seconds to restore factory lighting settings.
- Remove the keycap and switch to inspect the LED.
- If the LED still does not illuminate, the keyboard may require service.
7. Keyboard Disconnects Randomly
If your keyboard disconnects during use, the issue is usually related to firmware, USB connection quality, or power stability.
Solutions
- Update the keyboard firmware to the latest version.
- Reconnect the USB cable securely.
- Try another USB cable.
- Try another USB port on your computer.
- Connect the keyboard directly to the motherboard USB port.
- Avoid external USB hubs or docking stations.
- If possible, test the keyboard on another computer.
8. M HUB Shows a White Screen, Infinite Loading, or Cannot Access Device Settings
If M HUB displays a white screen, continuously loads, or cannot access the device settings page, it is usually related to the USB connection, firmware communication, or browser permissions.
Solutions
- Make sure the keyboard is connected directly to your computer.
- Do not use an external USB hub, docking station, or adapter.
- Try another USB cable or another USB port.
- Force the keyboard into firmware update mode:
- Close M HUB.
- Press and hold Esc.
- While holding Esc, unplug and reconnect the USB cable.
- Release the key.
- Reopen M HUB and complete the firmware update if prompted.
- If the keyboard restarts while changing the polling rate or updating firmware, wait approximately 5 seconds for it to reconnect automatically.
9. M HUB Cannot Detect the Keyboard
If your keyboard works normally but M HUB cannot recognize it, try the following troubleshooting steps.
Solutions
- Reconnect the keyboard directly to your computer.
- Try another USB cable.
- Try another USB port.
- Restart M HUB.
- If you are using the Web Driver, try Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
Enable HID Permission (Web Driver)
If the Web Driver cannot detect your keyboard, make sure your browser allows HID device access.
- Open your browser settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security.
- Open Site Settings or Permissions.
- Find HID Devices.
- Enable HID device permission.
10. Firmware Update Failed
If the firmware update does not complete successfully, try the following methods.
If You Are Using M HUB Web Driver
- Refresh the page.
- Reconnect the keyboard.
- Try updating again.
- If necessary, try another supported browser.
If You Are Using M HUB Desktop Driver
- Close M HUB completely.
- Make sure it is no longer running in the background.
- Reconnect the keyboard.
- Launch M HUB again.
- Retry the firmware update.
11. A Key Continues to Trigger After Being Released
If a key continues to trigger after your finger has been released, or if key release feels delayed, the trigger parameters may be too sensitive.
Possible Causes
- Trigger settings are too aggressive.
- Calibration is inaccurate.
- Firmware version is outdated.
- USB connection is unstable.
Solutions
- Perform manual key calibration.
- During calibration, press the key vertically until it bottoms out.
- Increase the trigger distance or release distance if both are set extremely low.
- Enable Stability Mode.
- Increase the RT Smart value if necessary.
- Update the keyboard firmware.
- Try another USB cable or USB port.
Reinstall Firmware
- Press and hold Esc + Left Ctrl.
- Reconnect the USB cable while continuing to hold both keys.
- Wait until the keyboard enters firmware update mode.
- Open M HUB.
- Follow the firmware update prompt.
12. How to Configure SOCD
SOCD (Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions) allows two keys to follow different priority rules when pressed simultaneously.
Available Modes
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Last Input Wins | The most recently pressed key takes priority. |
| Key 1 Priority | Key 1 always has priority. |
| Key 2 Priority | Key 2 always has priority. |
| Cancel Both | Both keys are neutralized when pressed together. |
Setup Steps
- Open M HUB.
- Go to Advanced Keys → SOCD.
- Select two keys.
- Choose the preferred priority mode.
- Click Apply.
13. How to Configure DKS
DKS (Dynamic Keystroke) allows a single key to trigger multiple actions based on different press depths.
Setup Steps
- Open M HUB.
- Go to Advanced Keys → DKS.
- Select the key you want to configure.
- Add one to four actions.
- Assign a trigger depth for each action.
- Click Apply.
