- Position the keycap puller around the keycap.
- Pull upward gently and evenly.
- For larger stabilized keys, lift carefully and avoid applying force to only one side.
Replace a Switch
- Remove the keycap.
- Use a switch puller to grip the switch retaining tabs.
- Pull the switch upward in a controlled motion.
- Align the replacement switch pins before insertion.
- Press the switch straight down until it is fully seated.
13. M HUB Access
The UT98 is listed as a supported mechanical keyboard in the current MCHOSE M HUB device ecosystem. M HUB is available as a Windows desktop application and as a browser-based Web Driver for supported systems.
Official access page: MCHOSE M HUB.
- Desktop Driver: Windows 10 and above.
- Web Driver: use a supported Chromium-based browser; current MCHOSE guidance recommends Chrome or Edge for Mac use.
- macOS: use the Web Driver.
- Linux: basic keyboard compatibility may be available, but the current M HUB driver is not supported on Linux.
14. Cleaning & Daily Care
- Disconnect or turn off the keyboard before cleaning.
- Use a soft brush or air blower to remove loose dust and debris.
- For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps carefully.
- If keycaps are cleaned separately, make sure they are fully dry before reinstalling them.
- Keep liquids away from the switches, PCB, USB port, and internal electronics.
Keycaps and compatible switches are intended to be user-serviceable. Internal disassembly of the case, PCB, plate, battery, or structural materials is not recommended as a routine maintenance procedure.
