1. What Is M HUB?
MCHOSE M HUB is the official configuration platform for supported MCHOSE devices. The UT98 is currently listed among supported mechanical keyboards.
Depending on the device and software version, M HUB can provide functions such as key remapping, macros, RGB lighting, device settings, onboard profiles, and firmware management. The exact controls shown for the UT98 depend on the connected firmware and current M HUB release.
2. Desktop Driver vs Web Driver
| Feature | M HUB Desktop Driver | M HUB Web Driver |

3. How to Access M HUB
Open the official MCHOSE M HUB page: https://www.mchose.store/pages/firmware-2.
Web Driver
- Open the M HUB page in a supported browser.
- Choose the Web Driver option.
- Select Allow Browser Access when prompted.
- Choose the UT98 from the HID device list.
- Confirm the connection and wait for the device page to load.
Desktop Driver
- Download the current M HUB Desktop Driver from the official page.
- Extract the downloaded package if required.
- Run the installer and complete installation.
- Launch M HUB.
- Connect the UT98 and wait for it to appear in the device list.
4. Connect UT98 to M HUB
For initial setup or troubleshooting, a direct USB wired connection is the most reliable way to confirm that the keyboard and computer can communicate correctly.
- Set the UT98 mode switch to OFF.
- Connect the keyboard directly to the computer using the included USB cable.
- Open M HUB or the Web Driver.
- Wait for the UT98 device card or configuration page to appear.
5. Browser & HID Permissions
The Web Driver communicates with supported devices through browser HID permissions.
If the Browser Does Not Show the UT98
- Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Refresh the M HUB Web Driver page.
- Reconnect the USB cable.
- When the HID device prompt appears, select the UT98 and choose Connect / Allow.
- Check browser site permissions if the prompt was previously blocked.
Safari is not recommended for M HUB device configuration on macOS.
6. UT98 Settings in M HUB
The UT98 product specification confirms M HUB / Web Driver support, RGB customization, music-rhythm lighting, and onboard memory. Other controls can vary by software version.
| Setting Area | What It Is Used For |
|---|---|
| Key Configuration | Change supported key assignments and shortcuts. |
| Macros | Create reusable input sequences for permitted productivity or application workflows. |
| Lighting | Adjust supported RGB effects, brightness, speed, and colors. |
| Music-Reactive Lighting | Synchronize supported lighting behavior with computer audio when the desktop feature is available. |
| Onboard Memory | Store supported device settings so they can remain available without keeping M HUB open. |
| Firmware / Device Settings | View supported device information and install official updates when offered. |
7. Key Remapping
M HUB supports keyboard key remapping within its supported device ecosystem. If the UT98 configuration page displays key-mapping controls:
- Open the UT98 device page.
- Go to the key configuration or key-mapping section.
- Select the physical key you want to change.
- Choose a supported replacement function.
- Apply or save the setting.
- Test the key before closing the configuration page.
8. Macros
M HUB can support macro creation for compatible keyboards. Use macros for legitimate productivity and personal workflow customization, and follow the rules of the software, game, competition, or service you are using.
- Open the macro section in M HUB.
- Create a new macro and give it a clear name.
- Record the required key sequence.
- Review and adjust delays if the interface provides delay controls.
- Save the macro.
- Assign it to a supported UT98 key.
- Test it in a non-critical application before regular use.
9. RGB & Music-Reactive Lighting
The UT98 supports RGB lighting and an independently controlled ambient light bar. Main keyboard lighting can also be adjusted directly from the keyboard using Fn shortcuts.
Keyboard Shortcuts
| Shortcut | Function |
|---|---|
| Fn + \ | Switch keyboard lighting modes |
| Fn + Tab | Switch lighting colors |
| Fn + ↑ / ↓ | Increase / decrease brightness |
| Fn + ← / → | Decrease / increase effect speed |
| Fn + Right Shift | Switch ambient light bar modes |
| Fn + / | Switch ambient light bar colors |
Music-Reactive Lighting
Current UT98 product information lists RGB lighting with music-rhythm support. MCHOSE's current M HUB guidance notes that music-reactive / global RGB sync functions can require the Desktop Driver and may not be fully available through the Web Driver.
- Open the M HUB Desktop Driver.
- Select the UT98 or the supported RGB synchronization page.
- Choose a music-reactive effect if it is available for the connected firmware.
- Play audio on the computer.
- Keep M HUB running while the effect is active if the software requires continuous audio analysis.
10. Onboard Memory
The current official UT98 specification lists onboard memory. This allows supported settings written to the keyboard to remain available after M HUB is closed or when the keyboard is moved to another compatible computer.
11. Firmware & Reset
Firmware Updates
When M HUB offers an official UT98 firmware update, keep the keyboard on a stable connection until the process is complete.
- Connect the UT98 directly by USB when possible.
- Open M HUB.
- Open the firmware / device information section.
- Install only the firmware offered for the connected UT98.
- Do not disconnect the keyboard or interrupt computer power during the update.
- Wait for the keyboard to reconnect before making further changes.
Keyboard Reset
To restore the keyboard's default settings from the keyboard itself, press and hold Fn + Esc for approximately 3 seconds.
12. Using M HUB on macOS
The current MCHOSE support guidance specifies that macOS users should use the M HUB Web Driver. The desktop M HUB application is not currently available for macOS.
- Open Chrome or Edge on the Mac.
- Open the official M HUB Web Driver.
- Reconnect the UT98 if necessary.
- Allow HID device access when prompted.
- Select the UT98 and connect.
If keyboard characters are mapped incorrectly on macOS, confirm that the UT98 is in macOS mode using Fn + E and check the Mac keyboard layout / keyboard type settings.
13. M HUB Troubleshooting
M HUB Does Not Detect the UT98
- Set the keyboard to OFF wired mode.
- Reconnect the included USB cable.
- Try another USB port, preferably a direct motherboard / computer port.
- Avoid hubs and docks during testing.
- Restart M HUB or refresh the Web Driver.
- If using the Web Driver, re-grant HID permission.
- Restart the computer if needed.
Desktop Driver Does Not Open or Closes Unexpectedly
- Fully exit M HUB, including background processes.
- Open it again.
- Install the latest official release.
- On Windows, try running the installer or application with the permissions required by the system.
- Use the Web Driver temporarily when the required UT98 function is available there.
Web Driver Loads but Cannot Connect
- Use Chrome or Edge.
- Check the browser's HID permissions.
- Close the Desktop Driver so both versions are not running together.
- Reconnect the keyboard.
- Refresh the page and select the UT98 again.
RGB Sync Does Not Work
- Confirm that standard UT98 keyboard lighting works using Fn shortcuts.
- Check the lighting page in M HUB.
- If using music-reactive or global sync, try the Desktop Driver.
- Keep M HUB running if the effect requires live software control.
- Update firmware only when an official update is offered for the UT98.
