1. What Is M HUB?
MCHOSE M HUB is the official device configuration platform for supported MCHOSE keyboards, mice, and audio products. The K99 Series is included in the supported mechanical-keyboard ecosystem.
Depending on your K99 model, M HUB can provide:
Recommended First-Time Setup Flow
- Connect the keyboard by USB wired mode.
- Open the current official M HUB page and choose Desktop or Web.
- Confirm that the correct K99 model appears.
- Before customizing, check the firmware page and note the installed version.
- Test the keyboard with the key-test tool.
- Make one small change first, such as remapping a non-critical key, and confirm that the change saves correctly.
- Then configure lighting, macros, performance settings, and profiles as needed.
This staged approach makes troubleshooting easier because you can identify which setting changed the keyboard's behavior.

Direct test link: MCHOSE Keyboard Test
6. 2.4G Pairing Guide
M HUB includes a pairing guide for supported wireless devices.
- Open the M HUB device settings page.
- Select Pairing Guide.
- Choose Keyboard as the device type.
- Follow the on-screen receiver-pairing instructions for your model.
For manual keyboard-side pairing, K99 V2/V3 use Fn + ~ for approximately 3 seconds before reconnecting the receiver.
7. Key Layers & Remapping
Default Layer
The Default Layer is the keyboard's normal input layer. Pressing a key triggers its standard assigned function without another layer key.
Fn Layer
The Fn Layer contains secondary functions that are triggered while holding Fn. Depending on the model, these can include media controls, lighting shortcuts, system-mode switching, and other secondary functions.
Fn2 Layer
On supported K99 configurations, you can assign a key as an Fn2 trigger. Holding that key with another configured key opens an additional custom layer, expanding the number of available assignments.
Remap a Key
- Open Key Settings.
- Select the target key on the keyboard layout.
- Choose the new supported function.
- Apply/save the assignment.
You can restore an individual key or all assignments to their default values.
How to Restore a Remapped Key
- Open the key configuration page.
- Select the remapped key.
- Choose the restore/default function.
- Apply/save the change.
If several custom assignments are no longer needed, use the option to restore all supported key assignments rather than clearing keys one at a time.
When to Use Fn2
Fn2 is useful when the standard Fn layer is already occupied by important system shortcuts. For example, you can dedicate one less-used key as the Fn2 trigger and place productivity shortcuts, application commands, or media controls on that additional layer without replacing the default Fn functions.
8. Commands & Shortcuts
The supplied M HUB documentation includes a Commands category for assigning supported multi-step or system actions. Practical examples include opening a commonly used application, triggering a screenshot shortcut, or assigning a frequently used productivity shortcut to one key.
9. Macros
Macros record a sequence of supported key actions and assign the sequence to a single key. They can be useful for repetitive productivity steps, editing workflows, text-entry sequences, or application shortcuts.
Create a Macro
- Open Key Settings and create a new macro.
- Enter a clear macro name.
- Select the desired playback/loop behavior.
- Select Start Recording.
- Perform the required key sequence.
- Stop recording and review the sequence.
- Adjust delay values if needed.
- Save the macro.
- Assign the saved macro to the target key.
K99 V2: A Held Key Is Briefly Interrupted When a Macro Runs
The supplied K99 V2 documentation notes that another currently held key may briefly stop registering when a macro begins or finishes. If this occurs, press the affected key again after the macro completes.
Macro Playback and Delay
After recording, review the sequence before assigning it. If the target application misses a step, increase the delay between actions rather than adding repeated inputs. If the macro runs more slowly than needed, reduce delays gradually and retest. Exact playback options can vary by M HUB version.
Macro Management
- Use descriptive names so you can identify each macro later.
- Keep productivity macros short and focused.
- Delete obsolete macros to avoid assigning the wrong sequence.
- After changing a macro, verify that the target key still points to the updated version.
10. Lighting Settings
Open the Lighting section to configure supported effects. Available controls depend on the selected K99 model and effect.
- Switch between static and animated effects.
- Adjust supported colors.
- Adjust brightness and effect speed where available.
- Create supported custom lighting.
- Configure the supported indicator/ambient-light zone separately on models that provide it.
RGB Color Reference
| Color | R | G | B | Hex |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yellow | 255 | 255 | 0 | #FFFF00 |
| Pink | 255 | 192 | 203 | #FFC0CB |
| Sky Blue | 135 | 206 | 235 | #87CEEB |
| Cyan | 0 | 255 | 255 | #00FFFF |
| Teal | 64 | 224 | 208 | #40E0D0 |
| White | 255 | 255 | 255 | #FFFFFF |
Physical RGB output can look slightly different from the on-screen preview because of LED characteristics, switch/keycap light transmission, keyboard housing, ambient light, viewing angle, and display calibration.
Key Backlight vs Indicator / Ambient Lighting
On K99 V2 and K99 V3, multiple lighting zones can be configured independently. If one area remains illuminated after another is turned off, check the separate lighting-zone controls rather than treating it as a backlight fault.
Custom Mode Limitations
Not every effect exposes the same settings. A static effect may allow direct color selection, while an animated effect may use a preset color sequence. Some custom modes also limit speed or brightness controls. If a control is unavailable in M HUB for the selected effect, switch to another effect to confirm that the control becomes available.
Matching an On-Screen Color
Use RGB/Hex values as a reference rather than an exact color-calibration guarantee. Keyboard LEDs are viewed through switches, keycaps, and diffusers, so the physical color may not perfectly match the monitor preview.
11. Music-Reactive Lighting
The supplied K99 V2/V3 manuals describe a music-reactive / rhythm-lighting feature that responds to audio playing on the computer.
- Connect the keyboard by USB wired or 2.4G.
- Open M HUB Desktop.
- Open the lighting synchronization / Aura section.
- Select a supported music-reactive effect.
- Play audio on the computer.
- M HUB Desktop must remain running while the effect is active.
- The supplied K99 documentation does not support this music-reactive function through the Web Driver.
- On K99 V3, the ambient-light system is controlled separately from supported music-reactive key backlighting.
12. Performance Settings
K99 V3
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Polling Rate | 1000 / 2000 / 4000 / 8000Hz on supported K99 V3 8K versions. |
| Sleep | Wireless sleep interval. Supplied troubleshooting material lists approximately 30 seconds–20 minutes plus an option to disable automatic sleep; available UI values can vary by M HUB/firmware version. |
| Key Chatter Optimization | Use when troubleshooting unintended repeated inputs. |
| Windows / macOS Mode | Can be switched through M HUB or the keyboard shortcut. |
| Win Lock | Locks the Win key in Windows mode. |
K99 V2
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Polling Rate | 250 / 500 / 1000Hz. |
| Sleep | Approx. 30 seconds–20 minutes with an option to disable automatic sleep; some driver versions may label the disabled state as Never. |
| Top Speed | Low-latency response mode for USB wired and 2.4G. If unintended repeated inputs appear, compare behavior with Top Speed disabled. |
| Windows / macOS Mode | Can be switched in M HUB or with Fn + A / Fn + S. |
| Win Lock | Fn + Win; not active in macOS mode. |
K99 (Original / V1)
The original official manual documents software-based LED and keymap adjustment. Do not assume that K99 V2-only Top Speed or K99 V3-only advanced-key functions are available on the original K99 unless M HUB explicitly shows those settings for the detected device.
Polling Rate: What Changes?
Polling rate controls how often the keyboard reports its input state to the computer. A higher setting shortens the maximum report interval, while also increasing the amount of USB/system processing. Choose the highest setting that is stable for your computer and workflow rather than assuming every system needs the maximum value.
- 1000Hz corresponds to a maximum report interval of about 1ms.
- 8000Hz corresponds to a maximum report interval of about 0.125ms.
These figures describe the USB reporting interval and should not be interpreted as the total end-to-end latency of every key action.
K99 V2 Top Speed
Top Speed is available in wired and 2.4G modes. It prioritizes faster key response. The supplied K99 V2 FAQ lists a minimum response target of approximately 2ms. If a key feels overly sensitive or produces unintended repeats, disable Top Speed temporarily and retest before replacing hardware.
Sleep Configuration
A shorter sleep timer saves more wireless power but may require more frequent wake-ups. A longer timer reduces wake interruptions but consumes more standby power. Choose the interval that matches your use pattern.
13. K99 V3 Advanced Key Functions
K99 V3 supports four advanced input functions through M HUB: SOCD, MT, TGL, and CB.
SOCD
SOCD links two selected keys and defines what the keyboard reports when both are pressed. The supplied K99 V3 documentation lists behaviors including:
- Last-input priority
- Key 1 priority
- Key 2 priority
- Neutral / cancellation behavior
MT (Tap / Hold)
MT allows one physical key to perform one action when tapped and another action when held. The hold-time threshold can be adjusted in M HUB.
TGL (Toggle)
TGL allows an assigned input to remain active after a tap. Press the assigned key again to stop the continuous input. A normal long press can still operate as a standard hold action.
CB (Combination Key)
CB allows one key to trigger a supported modifier plus a standard key, such as assigning Ctrl + C to one key.
SOCD Configuration Guidance
Choose the behavior based on the input logic required by the application. For example, Neutral reports neither of the linked inputs when both are pressed, while priority modes define which input remains active. Test the result in a non-competitive environment before relying on the configuration.
MT Configuration Guidance
Set the hold threshold so a normal tap does not accidentally trigger the hold action. If the two actions are difficult to distinguish, increase the threshold and retest.
TGL Configuration Guidance
Because TGL can keep an input active after the physical key is released, use it only for functions where a persistent state is intentional. Press the assigned key again to cancel the toggled input.
CB Configuration Guidance
CB is most useful for standard shortcuts built from a modifier plus one normal key. After assigning a combination, test it in the target application and confirm that the application itself does not already override the shortcut.
14. Onboard Configurations
Onboard configuration stores supported settings in keyboard memory so they remain available after M HUB is closed or the keyboard is moved to another computer.
K99 V3
- Supports up to three onboard configurations in the supplied K99 V3 FAQ.
- Supported settings can include key mappings, macros, lighting, and other model-supported options.
- Update to a compatible firmware version if M HUB indicates that onboard-profile support requires it.
The supplied source material does not state that K99 V2 or the original K99 provide the same three-profile onboard feature. Do not apply the K99 V3 profile count to those models unless M HUB explicitly shows it.
Why Use an Onboard Configuration?
- Keep important key mappings after M HUB is closed.
- Move the keyboard to another computer without rebuilding the same supported configuration.
- Maintain separate work, general-use, or application-oriented setups.
Before Switching Profiles
Save current changes before selecting another onboard configuration. If a setting appears to disappear, confirm that you are viewing the same onboard profile in which it was originally saved.
15. Firmware, Reset & Recovery
Normal Firmware Update — K99 V2 / V3
- Connect the keyboard using a supported M HUB connection mode.
- Open M HUB.
- Open Other Settings / firmware settings.
- Check for an available firmware update.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Keep the keyboard connected and do not interrupt power during the update.
Factory Reset
- K99 V3: hold Fn + Esc until the reset confirmation occurs; the supplied FAQ uses approximately 5 seconds.
- K99 V2: hold Fn + Esc for approximately 5 seconds.
- K99 (Original / V1): Fn + Esc resets the keyboard to factory settings.
K99 V3 Firmware Recovery
Use firmware recovery only when an official guide or MCHOSE Support directs you to do so.
- Connect the keyboard in wired mode.
- Hold Esc + Left Ctrl.
- While holding the keys, disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.
- Open M HUB and follow the recovery instructions.
Firmware Update Preparation
- Charge the keyboard sufficiently before starting a wireless-supported update.
- Prefer a direct USB connection when available.
- Close unnecessary software that may repeatedly reconnect USB/HID devices.
- Do not unplug the keyboard while the update progress is active.
If an Update Fails
- Do not repeatedly disconnect/reconnect during the same update attempt.
- Close and reopen M HUB.
- Reconnect through a direct USB port.
- Retry the normal update.
- Use K99 V3 recovery only if the normal update still cannot complete and an official guide/support workflow calls for recovery.
16. M HUB Troubleshooting
M HUB Does Not Detect K99 V2 / V3
- Confirm that the keyboard is in a supported connection mode.
- For wired mode, set the switch to OFF and reconnect the USB cable.
- For 2.4G, confirm that the keyboard is already paired with its receiver.
- Try another computer USB port.
- Connect directly to the computer.
- Restart M HUB.
- If using M HUB Web, confirm browser HID permission.
Web Driver Does Not Show the Keyboard
- Use Chrome, Edge, or another currently supported Chromium-based browser.
- Allow the site to access HID devices.
- Close M HUB Desktop while using M HUB Web.
- Reconnect the keyboard and reopen the browser page.
M HUB Desktop Does Not Open or Closes Unexpectedly
- Fully exit M HUB, including its background process.
- Open it again.
- On Windows, try running it with administrator permission if needed.
- Reinstall the current official M HUB version.
- Use M HUB Web temporarily for supported settings if the desktop application is unavailable.
Settings Do Not Appear to Save
- Confirm that the setting is supported by your exact K99 model.
- Apply/save the change before closing M HUB.
- If using an onboard profile, confirm that you are editing the intended profile.
- Reconnect the keyboard and verify the setting.
Keyboard Reconnects After Changing Polling Rate
A brief restart/reconnection can occur after changing polling rate. Wait a few seconds for the keyboard to reappear in M HUB before making additional changes.
M HUB Opens, but the Device Page Is Incomplete
- Confirm that the exact K99 model is detected, not a different connected MCHOSE device.
- Reconnect the keyboard and reload the device page.
- Compare Desktop and Web only one at a time; close one before opening the other.
- Check whether the missing function is actually supported by your K99 generation.
Lighting Works, but Key Mapping Does Not
Restore one test key to default, then remap it again. If only a specific layer is affected, verify that you are editing the intended Default, Fn, or Fn2 layer. A system shortcut that has been replaced by a custom assignment will no longer perform its original function until restored.
M HUB Shows the Keyboard as Offline
Reconnect through USB wired mode first. If the keyboard works normally as an input device but M HUB remains offline, restart M HUB, try another direct USB port, and then test the Web version after closing the Desktop application.
17. Still Need Help?
If M HUB still cannot configure your K99, contact MCHOSE Support with your exact K99 model, connection mode, operating system, M HUB version, keyboard firmware version, and a short screen recording or screenshot when helpful.
